Thought of The Day

DESCRIPTION
I’ll be as honest as I can, a year ago I sat right here on this shoreline in Newport, RI and called out to Jesus in repentance and with earnest intent to truly start following Him. I think this past year has been the most important year of my life. Though I’ve identified as a Christian my whole life, I think this is the first year I’ve actually felt like one.

I was a Christian but I didn’t talk to God.
I was a Christian but I wasn’t interested in reading His word.
I was a Christian but lived in habitual sin. I was a Christian but never shared the gospel with anyone around me because it terrified me and I was insecure.
I checked some of the boxes but my life and habits never really looked any different.

But the Holy Spirit brings heart change. The Holy Spirit will meet you right where you’re at and change your desires. He’ll bring conviction like never before. He’ll bring boldness. He’ll bring healing. I’m thankful for the change. I’m thankful my day to day life, habits and marriage look different now. I don’t want to just check the box.
And things aren’t necessarily easier now. It’s been a lot heavier in some ways. I still struggle. I still sin far too often, but when you actually make some room for God to work in your life, it’s amazing what He will do. He’s faithful! Don’t just settle for believing in Jesus, follow Him. He’s the only way, the only life.
